Understanding The Mysteries of the Bible

When it comes to understanding the bible you'll find people who will tell you they don't understand it। There are others who will say they do understand it, who often don't. And there are those of us who understand some of it, and learn more each time we read it. The bible is a book that has been in just about every household in America. Bibles are in every hospital that I have ever been in. They have also been in every hotel Ive ever visited. Every American has had an opportunity to access this book.

While speaking with people who don't read the bible, but do believe it, (some of them even daily readers of other books) I feel that they have been mislead about its contents and find the bible boring. If more people would take just 15 minutes per day to read something out of it, they would realize that the bible is the most interesting book there is, they won't be able to get enough of it. They beome hungry and thirsty for righteousness. One thing that is certain is the more you read, the more you're changed. No matter what type of books you enjoy reading, none can compare to this MASTERPIECE!

  • To me, the bible speaks of life and of death, freedom and slavery, war and peace, good and evil, building and destroying, love and hate. The bible talks about parents, children, animals, trees, oceans, stars and everything concerning the issues of life. It is our book of instructions. There are many other names used in reference to the bible. Some of them you may have already heard, but here are just a few.
  1. The good book
  2. The book of truth
  3. The living word
  4. The traveler's map
  5. The book of instruction
  6. The world history book
  7. The book of good and evil
  • The bible is also translated into many different languages and has an assortment of styles.
  • There is a verse in the bible that has been translated into over 1000 languages. It tells of the one who loves us with an undying love. The verse is JOHN 3:16.

While walking, at a carnival, my daughters were each given a bible. I opened one up and the inside of the bible read: " The bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers' map, the pilgrims' staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the christians charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good the design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents."

As we continue to read, we grow closer to understanding the mysteries of the bible. Read it and Understand!
